Modern Cabinet Finishes LLC
Our Process
Most kitchens are completely refinished in about a week.
The first days are dedicated to removing the doors and drawer faces for transportation back to our workshop, along with the full preparation of the room, including the application of protective film and heavy floor paper on all surfaces, including ceilings, walls, floors, backsplashes and appliances. In addition, a ventilation and extraction system is temporarily installed, as is an airtight plastic barrier to form a work zone around the cabinets. The final phase in preparation is the thorough cleaning and degreasing of the existing cabinetry frames and the dust free sanding process. Next we spray prime and spray finish the cabinetry. The doors get the same treatment back at our shop.
We use HEPA filtration sanders to eliminate dust and extraction fans to remove odors. After the final coats are applied, we remove all the plastic film and protective paper, clean the area thoroughly and your kitchen will be totally accesable during the time it takes to redo the doors and drawers back at our shop. All our products dry very quickly and odor free and can be put into service in less than a day.
There is no need to remove any of the items from the cabinets or drawers as they will be completely protected from dust and refinishing products throughout the process. We will also make the appliances, such as the refrigerator and microwave accesable throughout the process.
